Female athletes have unique considerations when it comes to meeting energy requirements & designing appropriate nutrition strategies. This module offers a comprehensive look at the factors to consider for female energy needs as well as the essential micronutrients women need to support overall health and well-being. We explore the risk factors for body image issues facing females and discuss strategies to promote a positive self-image for our female athletes.  Additionally, we will delve into the fascinating topic of how the menstrual cycle affects food intake and athletic performance. This module is essential for exercise physiologists to better understand and support the female athletes they work with.
