Description:
The CSEP Exercise & Depression Specialization™ prepares Qualified Exercise Professionals with further depth of knowledge and understanding of exercise-based treatment for depression (EBT-D).
Eligibility
CSEP Professional Members
All CSEP-CPT and CSEP-CEP members in good standing are eligible to pursue the CSEP Exercise & Depression Specialization™. To earn the CSEP Exercise & Depression Specialization™, CSEP professional members must successfully attempt a 60-question Theory Exam.
All other Qualified Exercise Professionals
Individuals who are not certified with CSEP may be eligible to obtain the CSEP Exercise & Depression Specialization™. All individuals who are not CSEP Professional Members must meet the following pre-requisites:
Completion of at least 60 credits (2 years) of study at a post-secondary institution in the field of exercise science, health and fitness, Kinesiology, etc.
Proof of insurance coverage to practice as a personal trainer, Kinesiologist, exercise physiologist, etc. (see FAQs for minimum required coverage)
How to become a CSEP Exercise & Depression Specialist™:
This process applies to all candidates:
Complete the CSEP Mental Health Literacy course (available separately or as part of the Full Application Bundle)
You may also use the certificate of completion from the Exercise & Mental Health Interactive Textbook, if you have previously completed that.
Complete the CSEP Exercise & Depression Specialization™ Preparation Modules (available separately or as part of the Full Application Bundle)
Submit your application with your credentials
Pass the theory exam (requires a score of 70% or higher; first attempt sitting fee is included with your application)
Register as a CSEP Exercise & Depression Specialist™
